Terms and Conditions

Last updated: July 2026

1. Who we are and what we do

These Terms are the agreement between you and Virtual Same Day Marriage (“we,” “us,” “our”). When you book a ceremony or make a purchase on marriedtoday.net, you agree to these Terms. Our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy apply as well, so please read them too.

What we do. We help couples get legally married online. We handle your scheduling, prepare your ceremony details, and provide a licensed officiant who performs your ceremony over live video. We also guide you through the paperwork steps before and after your ceremony.

Where the license comes from. Your marriage license is issued by Utah County, Utah. You apply to the county directly, and the county records your marriage after the ceremony. You do not need to live in Utah or travel there. The license and the marriage record always come from the county, not from us.

What we are not. We are not a law firm, and we do not give legal advice. We are not a government agency. We cannot issue licenses, certificates, or marriage records, and we cannot speed up the county or any other government office. Our services are ceremonial and administrative.

2. Your responsibilities

Tell the truth. Our questionnaire and the county license application ask about your eligibility to marry. Your answers must be true and complete. This includes your legal names, your ages, and whether either of you is married to someone else right now. If you give false answers, your marriage may not be valid. Any legal consequences of false answers are your responsibility, and we may cancel your booking.

Make sure you are free to marry

  • You must both be at least 18 years old.
  • Neither of you can be married to anyone else.
  • You must both marry by your own free choice.
  • Marriage laws differ from place to place. It is your job to confirm that a Utah marriage works for your situation, especially if you live outside the United States.

Be ready for your ceremony

  • You both need to be on the live video during the ceremony.
  • Your ceremony needs two adult witnesses. You can bring your own, or we can provide witnesses if you need them.
  • You need a working camera, microphone, and internet connection.
  • You need government-issued ID to apply for your Utah County license.

Use our service lawfully. Do not use our service to break the law or to mislead any government agency. We welcome couples who marry as part of an immigration journey. A marriage entered only on paper to get around the rules is fraud, and we do not perform those ceremonies.

3. Scheduling, rescheduling, and cancellation

Booking your time. After you purchase, you schedule your ceremony from your account dashboard. Available times show live when you book. Same-day times are often open, but exact times depend on officiant availability. Every couple also applies for their Utah County marriage license. You apply online and pay the county’s license fee directly to Utah County. We guide you through this step, and your ceremony can be performed once your application is complete.

Changing your time. Plans change, and that is fine. You can cancel your booked time from your dashboard and pick a new one at no charge. If you miss your ceremony time, you can book a new one the same way.

Canceling a time is not a refund. Canceling a ceremony time in your dashboard only frees up the schedule. It does not cancel your purchase, and it does not start a refund. To ask about a refund, email us at virtualsamedaymarriage@gmail.com. Our Refund Policy explains how refunds work.

If we have to move your ceremony. On rare occasions, an officiant emergency or an outage may force us to move a ceremony. If that happens, we will contact you quickly and help you pick a new time. If we cannot perform your ceremony at all, you get a full refund.

4. Payment and refunds

Paying for your ceremony. You pay our full package price at checkout. Payments are processed by Stripe, and your card details never touch our servers. The county’s license fee is separate. You pay it directly to Utah County when you apply for your license.

Our Happiness Guarantee. Every ceremony package is fully refundable at any time before your ceremony takes place, for any reason. Once your ceremony has taken place, the service has been delivered and payment is non-refundable. If anything about your paperwork is not right after the ceremony, we will fix it.

Add-on services. Add-ons are refundable until the work has begun. For shipped kits, that means until the kit ships.

How refunds work. Email us at virtualsamedaymarriage@gmail.com with your names or order number. Refunds go back to your original payment method, usually within 5 to 10 business days.

The county’s fee. The license fee you pay to Utah County belongs to the county, and the county’s rules control it. We cannot refund money the county collected.

5. Your ceremony recording

Every ceremony is recorded. Your ceremony happens over live video and is recorded. The recording is part of how we deliver and document your legal marriage. By booking with us, you agree to the recording. Anyone who joins your ceremony call will appear in it, so please let your guests know.

Your copy. Your recording is available in your account dashboard while your account is active. We recommend downloading your own copy to keep.

Marketing use is your choice. We use your ceremony recording or photos in our marketing only if you tick the optional consent box in your dashboard. Leave the box unticked and your ceremony stays private to you and us. If you change your mind after giving consent, email us at virtualsamedaymarriage@gmail.com. Email is what tells us to stop. Once we hear from you, we will not use your ceremony in any new marketing.

6. What we are responsible for, and what we are not

Our promise. We will perform your ceremony with care and handle our part of the paperwork properly. If we get something wrong, tell us. We will fix the paperwork, redo what needs redoing, or refund what you paid us, as our Refund Policy describes.

Things outside our control. We are not responsible for problems caused by things we do not control, including:

  • Utah County and other government offices: their processing times, their decisions, and their fees.
  • Outages at services we rely on, like Zoom, Calendly, Stripe, or email and text carriers. If an outage disrupts your ceremony, we will reschedule you at no charge.
  • Your own equipment or connection, like your camera, microphone, or internet.
  • Problems caused by false or incomplete information you gave us.

Other governments and agencies. Your marriage is legally performed and recorded under Utah law. But we cannot promise how any other agency, state, or country will treat your marriage for a specific purpose, such as immigration or benefits. Those decisions belong to those agencies.

The limit. To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us. We are not responsible for indirect costs, such as travel, lost wages, or missed deadlines. Some places do not allow certain limits on liability, so some of these limits may not apply to you.

7. Governing law and disputes

Talk to us first. If something goes wrong, email us at virtualsamedaymarriage@gmail.com before anything else. Nearly every problem gets fixed faster by our team than by any formal process.

Two kinds of law. Your marriage itself is created and recorded under Utah law. These Terms, which are the agreement between you and us, are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law rules.

8. Text messages and email

When you book with us and give us your phone number and email address, you agree that we can send you messages about your booking. These include receipts, scheduling links, reminders, and ceremony details.

Text messages. Message frequency varies. Standard message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to stop texts. Reply HELP for help.

If you stop texts, we will still send the emails you need for your ceremony.

Marketing emails are separate. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing from marketing does not affect your booking emails.

9. Our right to refuse service

If you break these Terms, we can cancel your booking or close your account. If we cancel your booking before your ceremony has been performed, we will refund what you paid us.

10. Changes to these Terms

When we change these Terms, we will update this page and change the date at the top. The version posted when you book is the version that applies to your booking.
